PLEASE NOTE: This assessment is completed in order to determine if you are physically fit and/or have good aptitude for occupations related to heavy equipment operating and commercial driving. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR ASSESSMENT
Affinity Occupational Therapy has partnered with a professional operator training school to provide an experience unique to equipment operating. This is a 3-hour assessment where you will have the opportunity to operate machines such as an excavator, skid steer, backhoe, and loader on 27 acres of land under the guidance of an instructor. You will also complete activities related to light maintenance of the machines to ensure that you are physically capable of the basic job demands of a heavy equipment operator. This is not a certificate assessment.
COMMERCIAL DRIVING ASSESSMENT
Affinity Occupational Therapy has partnered with a professional commercial truck driving school to provide a vehicle, trailer, and instructor to practice the basic demands of a commercial truck driver. This is a 3-hour assessment where you will be assessed driving a commercial class 1 truck and performing the physical demands of pre-operational checks, trailer coupling, and putting on tire chains. Class 1 learners license required. This is not a licensing assessment.
